My name is Michael Vieths. I'm a software developer in the Minneapolis area, though I've reached the point where I'm losing interest in computers and want another career option. To that end, I'm currently working on a Biology degree and should graduate in December of 2006. After that, I'm thinking grad school for microbiology. I'd like to genetically engineer microbes to perform useful tasks, like the E. coli engineered to produce human insulin.
One of the things I've been interested in for quite a while are Werewolves. I've been compiling a list of books about them for years now, although I haven't managed to read most of them. I'm working on it, though. :) Here's the list. I'll try to do a review of sorts of each book as I read it. So, if you see a book here I haven't looked at and know where I can get a copy, or if you can suggest a book that's not on the list, let me know.
After that, we get to the reason WHY I made a huge list of werewolf books. Basically, I'm obsessed with them. Have been since the 6th grade, maybe earlier. Because of that, I'm quite into the Werewolf: the Apocalypse roleplaying game by White Wolf. It's also one of the primary things I've hunted for on the internet. It eventually led me to the newsgroup alt.horror.werewolves (AHWW). One of the concepts that they came up with on there was the Werecard, which was basically a big fact sheet about a person in regards to were-stuff. I finally got mine written up, and here it is...
Another of my pasttimes is MUSHing. I first started in the internet, and MUSHing through it, in June of 1994. My first MUSH was Star Wars MUSH 1. I've since moved on to other games, with various Staff and Wizard bits on quite a few of them.
A while back, I was having a pretty bad day. Then, something Good happened. I saw an URL that didn't look familiar, and, being the curious person I am, I took a look. It's at http://www.sluggy.com. It has to be the best use of an evil switchblade-wielding bunnyrabbit I've seen this year.
